Vivek Mitra is a Chess Coach of Amity International School, Noida. He is  M.Com from Zakir Husain College and very sincere and hardworking Chess Teacher for beginners and intermediate students. He has participated in many national chess tournaments. He has good communication and inter-personal skills and is an active chess player.

Achievements as a Player

  • Captain of College Chess Team from 2002 -2006. The team secured 3rd  & 4th positions respectively in the Inter College Chess tournaments organized by Delhi University Sports Council
  • Member and Captain of the Delhi University Chess Team in 2002 & 2003. The team secured 8th position at the All India Level in the year 2003
  • Member and Captain of the College team which secured 2nd, 3rd & 4th positions in ‘All India BITS Open Sports Meet’ from year 2002 – 2006 at BITS, PILANI
  • Participated in various other tournaments organized by Delhi Chess Association, other clubs and associations in the period of last 10 years and secured good positions

Achievements as a Coach

  • Amity International School, Noida got top 3 positions in many inter-school events and also some students performed very well at Delhi State Chess Championships
  • worked for 2 years in National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi as summer chess instructor.
  • Saumya Dangwal of Amity School, Noida scored 2.5/4 in Delhi State U-17 Chess Championship 2008 and secured 5th position in the overall rankings.
  • Saumya Dangwal scored 4/5 in Delhi State U-19 Chess Championship 2008, secured 5th position in the overall rankings & got the ‘Arbiter Choice Award’
  • Saumya Dangwal scored 5/6 in 4th GCA Students Chess Tournament held on 27th – 28th Dec. 2008 & secured 2nd position in the U-12 category
  • Shramik Rawal also scored 5/6 & secured 3rd  position in the U-9 category in 4th GCA Chess Tournament
  • Pranjal Dangwal scored 5/5 & won 1st T.N. Sachdeva Memorial Chess Tournament in the U-10 category held on 2nd – 4th Jan. 2009
  • Varun Bansal also scored 3.5/5 & secured 3rd position in the 1st T.N. Sachdeva Memorial Chess Tournament
  • The school team also won the Inter-School trophy in the above championship
  • Varun Bansal scored 3.5/5 secured 3rd position in U-12 category in K.V.Ramanamurthy Chess Tournament held at Russian Cultural Center, New Delhi held on 5th – 6th Jan. 2009
  • Amity School, Noida secured 4th position in the overall rankings in Smt. Mohini Virendra Singh Memorial Tournament held at Modern School, Vasant Vihar from 9th – 10th Jan. 2009
  • Shramik Rawal scored 5/5 & won the 1st GCA Invitational Chess Championship in the U-12 category held on 24th- 25th Jan. 2009
  • Shramik Rawal scored 4/5 & secured 2nd position in U-12 category organized by 64 Squares Chess Academy held on 14th – 15th Feb. 2009
  • Coach of Zakir Husain College from the year 2004 till date, which won many tournaments and secured good positions in Inter-College Chess Championship organized by Delhi University Sports Council
  • The college team also won the LSR Chess Championship in the year 2007-08 & 2008-09 under his guidance
  • Also organized Chess competitions for Under 16 & Under 12 categories on behalf of National Bal Bhavan.
